Well, as you can see I’m quite busy. Deep Mind is the next book in the Star Carrier Series. I finished Deep Time on Monday. Blackbirch 3 is the next book in the Blackbirch series by my friend and author K.M. Allan. She’s an Australian Author. If you haven’t read Blackbirch, I highly recommend it. It’s a great series.

My sister and I are watching scary movies this month. We started with Dr. Sleep, which is like a sequel to Stephen King’s The Shining, but it is all its own. We watched Crimson peak, which is a really eerie movie. Finally, we watched IT. I have never seen the movie, but Pennywise the clown was terrifying.

On the learning front, I’ve started a Discord course, restarted a Canva course, and still plugging through the MS Excel course. All of these are terrific courses. I get all of them on Udemy and bought all of them on sale for about $12. If you are ever interested on learning something new, Udemy is a great service.

Well, that’s it for today, folks.

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Hobbies, Games, and Movies – Breaking Bad, Little Shotty, and Chain Reaction

Breaking Bad, Chain Reaction, CODM, Diamond Camo, Netflix, Remo Williams, The Destroyer Series, Voodoo Die

My sister and I wound up House of Cards last week, and started Breaking Bad this week. We are still in season 1. It’s currently on Netflix. Breaking Bad is about a chemistry teacher in a high school and his journey to becoming a “cook” of methamphetamine. I won’t give away any spoilers. Check this out if you like tragedies like I do.

In the Call of Duty Mobile side of things, I’m still working on Diamond camouflage for all of my weapons. I’m currently working on the Arctic sniper rifle, Little Shotty (last of the pistols), Kilo tactical rifle, striker shotgun, swordfish assault rifle, and the PKM light machine gun. There is a challenge I’ll begin working on today. The challenge involves battle royal play.

I finished my last book, Voodoo Die and moved on to Chain Reaction in the Destroyer series. It’s pretty good so far. This one has a returning character in it, and it’s interesting how the authors made that happen. Anyway, if you like action adventure stories, you can find this series on Amazon. Do a search for The Destroyer series and Remo Williams. You’ll get the series everytime.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Have a great Thursday!

Until next time…

Call of Duty Mobile, Destroyer Series, House of Cards, Mugger Blood, Netflix, Task Force 141, Thursday

Happy Thursday!

This week, my sister and I started rewatching House of Cards on Netflix. Wow! What a great show! If you haven’t seen this one yet, I highly recommend it. I’d skip season 6, but seasons 1-5 are epic.

Season 2 for Call of Duty Mobile came out yesterday. I’m so excited! The season title is Task Force 141. This means new comics, new challenges, new weapons, and all the rest. I finally golded out two launchers last week. The third launcher I am working on now, it is an anti-aircraft missile launcher. I’m almost done with that one.

I’m reading Mugger Blood in The Destroyer series and it is terrific. When I read over some of the comments on Amazon or Goodreads, there is always someone who has something bad to say. More interesting is that it appears that the same person keeps making the bad comments. Why continue to read a series of books if you do not like it? I made a decision a few years back about this. If I am reading a book or a series of books and lose interest in the story, I stop reading the book. Why drag through something unless you have to for school or something. Anyway, if you don’t like a story anymore or the author lost you, dump the book and read something else. It is so much easier reading a book you enjoy then one you just can’t get into.

Well, that’s it for this week’s edition of Hobbies, Games and Movies. See you all tomorrow.

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Funny Friday/Hobbies, Games, and Movies – Inventing Anna

Amazon Prime, Call of Duty Mobile, Chris Rock, Comedians, Friday, Funny, Inventing Anna, Kevin Hart, Netflix, Reacher, Winter Storm

Well, folks, I missed posting yesterday, so today, I’ll be combining Funny Friday with Hobbies, Games and Movies. My sister and I just finished two series–Inventing Anna (Netflix) and Reacher (Amazon Prime). Inventing Anna was awesome. We both loved it. Reacher was good, but still didn’t do a great job capturing the character Jack Reacher in Lee Child’s Novels. They tried, but just missed the mark in my opinion. Great shows to watch though.

I am currently working on camouflage for all the launchers in Call of Duty Mobile, and beginning to work on Diamond Camo on a Machine Gun (PKM), Submachine Gun (PPSH-1), and the Sniper (Rytek AMR) with their appropriate loadouts. The launcher I am currently working on is the Thumper (M79 Grenade Launcher).

I played a marathon game on Wednesday-Thursday to finish up the last of the pistol class called the Shotty. It’s a little two-barrel mini-shotgun. That was a toughy. Anyway, that’s done and I’m off doing the rest. There’s a new challenge called Closing Time. It is a combination of ranked matches, battle royal matches, and some other stuff. I love these challenges. They are a lot of fun to complete. Well, I hope everyone had a great week.

I’m reading Ship of Death in the Remo Williams Destroyer Series. It is also a great read.

Here’s a short video with some great comedians. Kevin Hart is one of my favorites. I also enjoy Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, and Chris Rock. Chris is also in the video. I hope you enjoy it. Have a great Friday, enjoy your weekend, and for those of you impacted by the recent crazy weather, hope you are safe and warm.

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Hobbies, Games, and Movies – Manhunt

Call of Duty, CODM, Manhunt, Mobile gaming, Nail bomber, Netflix, Remo Williams, Unabomber

This week, my sister and I watched Manhunt “Nail Bomber” and “Unabomber”. They are both on Netflix. They are great shows, particularly Unabomber, which is more dramatic, and based on real events. The Nail bomber was more of a documentary, depicting an individual who set bombs off in various parts of England and who was part of the right-wing movements there. If you are into criminal documentaries or crime dramas, both are worth a watch. Currently we are watching a series called Mindhunter. It is also on Netflix and is about the behavioral science unit in the FBI. It is about how the FBI profilers came about at the FBI. It is also another great watch, if you are into crime dramas.

On the gaming front, I am still enamored with Call of Duty Mobile. I am currently working on Gold camouflage for the family of weapons called Marksmen. These are the equivalent of tactical rifles on the console version of Call of Duty. I planned on playing Warzone this year on the new map called Caldera, but after watching some of my favorite gaming streamers, it appears Caldera is not a great addition to the Warzone game. So, I am going to stick with CODM and keep playing there. It has been great fun so far, and I am enjoying all the new maps, weapons, and seasonal challenges.

I’m reading The Ship of Death in The Destroyer series. It is another great story about Remo Williams.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Have a great day!

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Hobbies, Games, and Movies – Ozark, CODM, War in the Pacific, and The Destroyer Series

Call of Duty - Movile, Destroyer Series, Hobbies, Netflix, Ozark, Reading, Remo Williams, WWII in the Pacific

My sister and I started a new documentary called War in the Pacific: Eagle Against the Sun. Some of the video quality is a little off, compared to other WWII documentaries we’ve watched, but this one is exclusively on the Pacific war. Boy is it fascinating. We are learning things about the Pacific war that we had no idea about. So far, we have seen the precursors to Japan going to war (Why they did it) and are just finishing up with the Battle of Midway and Guadalcanal.

For those of you who are Ozark fans, the series just launched a new season on Netflix. Sister and I will be binge watching that on Saturday. We’ll also order a pizza so we have food all day long. I can’t wait!

I’ve been deeply involved in Call of Duty Mobile. This new season had all kinds of challenges that I’ve completed. I’m waiting for a few more that will kick off on the 28th. It’s great fun. I’m currently working on the PPSH submachine gun camo to get it to gold. I’m also working on the prize fighter melee weapon. Yep, you guessed it. The prize fighter melee weapon is a pair of boxing gloves. You run around the battle field and knock your enemies out. It’s great fun!

Oh! I’m also concentrating my fiction reading this year on The Destroyer series, featuring it’s characters Remo Williams, his mentor Chiun, and the boss of Cure, Doctor Harold W. Smith. These are great books and only take about a week or sometimes a few days to knock out. The series has 120+ books, so it’ll be a while before I read something else. The book I’m reading currently is called: Sweet Dreams.

Well, that’s it for now, folks. Have a great Thursday!

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Motivation Monday – It’s All in the Preparation

23 Monday Aug 2021

Do Nothing Day, Hobby, iPad, Monday, motivation, Netflix, Saturday, Sunday

I’ve addressed this before in my Motivation Monday writings, but wanted to bring this up again. Sundays are labeled my “do nothing day”. On Sunday, I literally do what I want, without a schedule and where I purposely do not do anything listed on my to-do list. I wanted one day to truly be “lazy”, feel no pressure, and just enjoy the day, regardless of what I end up doing, guilt-free.

What does my “do nothing day” look like? Typically, it involves sleeping in. And when I say sleep in, I mean it. I normally do not get out of bed until 11 am or 12 pm. Sometimes I’ll get up briefly for my iPad, and get right back into that warm bed and watch some Netflix. It really depends on my mood, and what I feel like.

I don’t remember where I got this idea from, but it has worked miracles for me. When I get up Monday, I’m raring to go. I would also like to note that my preparation for Monday occurs on Friday and Saturday, where I take a look at my upcoming week and figure out what I am going to be doing. This alleviates any pressure on me to do anything on my “do nothing day.”

So get your calendar straight, look at the things you have on your schedules, and get your clothes prepped. Then when you hit Monday, you are hitting it running. I hope some of you take up a “do nothing day”. It may not be as “hard-core” as mine, because you have certain responsibilities you can’t avoid (pets, children, etc.), but it is a really worthwhile venture.

Your “do nothing day” doesn’t have to be on Sunday, either. You can set it for a day that is easier. Perhaps, Saturday?

Well, that’s all I got for Monday. Have a great week, folks!

Until next time…

Amazon, Curiosity Stream, Disney+, Documentaries, Entertainment, Netflix, Shows, TV Series

All of us are on lockdown, so I wanted to take a few moments to share some TV series I stream, in case you haven’t seen them. Here’s my list:

Netflix:

  • West Wing
  • Ozark

Amazon:

  • The Man in the High Castle
  • Anything James Cagney

Disney+:

  • The Mandalorian
  • Anything Star Wars

Curiosity Stream:

  • Everything!

I hope you enjoy these. If you love documentaries, I cannot recommend Curiosity Stream enough. It only costs about $20 bucks a year, and there are enough topics on outer space, undersea exploration, animals, and tons of history. I am a huge documentary fan, so this is my bread and butter.

I’m thankful for these services and don’t regret one penny that I spend on them. It is terrific to have so many things to watch, pending my mood.

Well, that’s all I got today. I continue to hope all of you and loved ones are still safe.

Until next time…

Dave
