Hello all!

I’m focusing my reading efforts on a book my friend in Australia wrote and published last year. It is the third in a series of books. What a story! I don’t want to provide any spoilers, but this is a great story. It falls within the YA category and is just terrific. The town, characters, and plot are all engaging.

I love documentaries and there were too many I watched in December to cover here. That being said, I’ll be telling you about the ones I watch weekly, going forward.

I’m still working on the MS Excel course. It is quite extensive. I’m on lesson 243 and there’s still more to go. I got this course on Udemy and started it a year ago. I paid a measly $9.00 for it and it has been well worth the money.

Well, I hope all of you are having a great start to 2023. We are here in our home. Have a great Thursday, folks!

Until next time…

All, I’ve decided to alter my postings on Thursday. I’ve been posting what I’m reading, what I’m learning, and what I’m watching, but frankly it bores me to tears. I imagine it bores many of you too, so I’m going to leave Thursday a free writing day, where I write about whatever comes to mind. I’m going to call Thursday my “Free Writing Day”.

I hope all of you like what I come up with and have a great weekend!

Until next time…

We started watching Better Call Saul this week. It is interesting because you get to revisit characters that fall along Saul’s character arc. It has a Breaking Bad feel, but is definitely a unique experience. We’ve only watched the first episode. We got distracted and caught some movies on Disney +. We watched Zhong – Zi (I don’t know if I spelled this right), a martial arts character in the Marvel Universe. We also watched Captain Marvel. That movie never disappoints. We’ll pick up Better Call Saul again, after my sister gets through all of her 50th birthday festivities.

Bay City Blast is the next book in the Remo Williams series. It is another terrific story. Again, no spoilers. You’ll have to spend the 2.99 to get the Kindle version.

Call of Duty started a new season with a desert feel. There will be a mission sometime in the next day or so with an Egyptian Tomb. I can’t wait. There have been a few challenges, and I am currently focusing on the Sniper Rifles. Speaking of weapons, this season introduced a new sniper rifle and a new melee weapon – Kali Sticks! I’ve got them to diamond camo so I am now back to the shovel and built a class with the baseball bat melee weapon.

Well, that’s it for this week, folks. I hope you have a great Thursday!

Until next time…

Call of Duty Mobile, Destroyer Series, House of Cards, Mugger Blood, Netflix, Task Force 141, Thursday

Happy Thursday!

This week, my sister and I started rewatching House of Cards on Netflix. Wow! What a great show! If you haven’t seen this one yet, I highly recommend it. I’d skip season 6, but seasons 1-5 are epic.

Season 2 for Call of Duty Mobile came out yesterday. I’m so excited! The season title is Task Force 141. This means new comics, new challenges, new weapons, and all the rest. I finally golded out two launchers last week. The third launcher I am working on now, it is an anti-aircraft missile launcher. I’m almost done with that one.

I’m reading Mugger Blood in The Destroyer series and it is terrific. When I read over some of the comments on Amazon or Goodreads, there is always someone who has something bad to say. More interesting is that it appears that the same person keeps making the bad comments. Why continue to read a series of books if you do not like it? I made a decision a few years back about this. If I am reading a book or a series of books and lose interest in the story, I stop reading the book. Why drag through something unless you have to for school or something. Anyway, if you don’t like a story anymore or the author lost you, dump the book and read something else. It is so much easier reading a book you enjoy then one you just can’t get into.

Well, that’s it for this week’s edition of Hobbies, Games and Movies. See you all tomorrow.

Until next time…

Call of Duty Mobile, Challenges, Fun, Games, Hobbies, Movies, The Heist, Thursday, WWII series

My sister and I are still watching the WWII series I discussed last week. It is approaching its end, as we are now after the D-Day invasion, and the battle of Minsk on the Eastern Front. The Americans in the Pacific are launching attacks into the Mariana islands. It is a great series.

Call of Duty started its new season called The Heist. There will be new characters, new weapons, and new challenges. I was so excited to start playing yesterday! Currently I am grinding through shotguns to get them all gold. After these, I have the marksman rifles and sniper weapons to work on. I began getting more efficient and worked on gold camouflage for all of my melee weapons as well. I am currently working on the baseball bat melee weapon.

I haven’t watched any movies since our last chat, but there are a few that I am interested in. I’ll keep you posted on what my sister and I watch.

Well, that’s it for the week. I hope all of you have a great rest of the week.

Until next time…

Today, I’m grateful again, for my wife. Yesterday, she graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Masters degree in Sociology. I am so proud of her. After two years of hard work, working a full-time job, and dealing with all of life’s surprises (Can you say menopause?), she got through it. I cried yesterday, when she walked the stage. I am just so damned proud of her.

So today, I’ll be short. Here’s to my wife. She has conquered every challenge life has thrown at her and she is still as genuine and generous as they come. I love you, dear.

Have a great Thursday, folks!

Until next time…

Today, I’m grateful for a food delivery service called DoorDash. I delayed using the service for a few months once the lockdown hit, but when we began using it, I was absolutely blown away. We have a few restaurants that we enjoy and DoorDash works with all of them.

We get food from Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, Applebees, and Denny’s. Honestly, I’m the only one that likes Denny’s, and ordered a family breakfast one day. It was awesome!

I always enjoy a good pizza too. Hungry Howie’s is the pizza place of choice. So here’s to food delivery. It saves time, isn’t that pricey, and it makes life easy, especially when the restaurants were all closed down. It made making a dinner easy for us and it helped local restaurants keep their heads above water. It was a win-win.

Thanks DoorDash for the great service.

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Thankful Thursday – Grateful for Humor

(The picture above is me laughing with my sister’s dog, who passed last year. He was a crack up.)

Humor has always carried me through whatever challenge I was going through. Be it divorce, death in the family, the loss of a pet, or even a temporary failure. Laughing at a comedian, stupid movie, or a well-done meme are terrific remedies to bad moods, feeling sorry for myself, or getting my mind off of a family tragedy.

I’ve been lucky in that way. When some folks would be devastated by this or that in their lives, I’ve always been able to bounce back. Some would say my sense of humor is a little on the “sick” side, but I believe you find whatever you can to make you laugh and go with it. Laughter is the best, particularly those laughs that are so hard, they are silent. I love laughing.

A few weeks ago, my sister came to visit, and we were looking at the Demotivators.com website. If you’ve never been there before, take a few moments to check it out. These posters are hilarious. Anyway, my sister and I came across one poster on the site and just had a gut-busting laugh. It was terrific!

I hope all of you have laughter in your lives. It’s terrific. Have a great Thursday, folks!

Until next time…

Dave
