Call of Duty has recently provided a season 2 update. The Path of Ronin has been upgraded to 10 weapon challenges. Each weapons class has its own specific challenges. Assault rifles, Battle Rifles, Submachine guns, Shotguns, Sniper rifles, melee weapons, Marksmanship rifles, pistols, and launchers each have their own specific challenges. I’ve completed pistols, submachine guns, and will start working on launchers today. Here’s a link to get the specifics: https://www.callofduty.com/blog/2023/03/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-II-warzone-2-0-season-02-reloaded-himmelmatt-raid-overview#Ronin

I haven’t played the Raid part 2 yet, but will in the upcoming weeks. In order to play the Raid mission you need to get two other friends to join you. I’ll play with my brother and one of his stepsons or play with the step sons exclusively. I watched StoneMountain64 play through it with two other streamers (Fuglet and Acculite). It seems pretty short, but still worth playing in my opinion.

The new weapon they’ve just opened up is a new marksmanship rifle. Here’s a link to learn the various ways to unlock it: https://twinfinite.net/2023/03/warzone-2-modern-warfare-2-how-to-unlock-the-tempus-torrent-marksman-rifle/

If you’re like me, you relish every challenge because it is what drives me to play these games. I’m competitive and like to win, but that’s not the gist of what makes me want to play these games. Speaking of challenges, there are all kinds of missions to complete in the DMZ. One trick you can do when you’re in the DMZ is to play with a partner. When you get ready to leave, have them drop their weapon and grab it. Do this a number of times and you’ll have a full inventory of contraband weapons with 5 attachments.

Here’s another piece of advice. Always equip your weapons with suppressors. Particularly if you like going solo, like I do. Suppressor kills tend not to fire up the AI, particularly if you pick them off at a distance with headshots. Your armored AI will require two headshots to kill them, but nonetheless, the alarms do not go off, with helicopters dropping off more AI and all the rest.

When I run solo missions, I tend to avoid other players. Unless you’re surprised, many players give themselves away by either using a vehicle or starting a firefight with the AI. When I hear this, I avoid the area, and move to a spot that is less active. If you do run into another player group, send them an invite to your party or request to join them. You’ll likely get invited and then you have two or three other players to work with. I do go into the DMZ with “randos” from time-to-time, but frankly, many of them do not have any type of plan for what they want to do. I always go in with a mission in mind. I tend to only do one at a time and get the hell out.

I wanted to mention CODM for a moment. The challenges this season are Black Gold Brawl, Down Range, Loaner Loadout, Top Up Bonus Event, Out Classed, Get Madd, Team Player, and Too Attached. These challenges are terrific! If you haven’t tried them, give it a shot. They give all kinds of goodies, like new weapon skins, new character skins, new perks, and even new weapons. The Maddox is one of the new weapons introduced. It is an assault rifle and it is awesome.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Oh! Before I leave, here is another streamer you may want to add to your watch schedule. iFerg is a streamer that highlights CODM. He has over 2 million followers and is a real treat to watch. He has all kinds of interesting insights and he offers up some great information about everything COD Mobile (CODM). Here’s the link to his channel if you’re interested: https://www.youtube.com/@iFerg

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Have a great Saturday!

Happy Gaming!

Daily Ramblings – Gaming Saturday – Power Outages

Call of Duty, CODM, Contraband, Gaming, Insured slot, items of interest, Key cards, keys, Missions, Power, Xbox

All, we had a power outage kick in last night and it was not resolved until 4:30 PM this afternoon. Luckily, we have a generator, but it is only hooked up to certain items in the house for survival, like our heaters and gas, refrigerator and freezer, and lighting in the main part of the house. Subsequently, I missed most of my gaming today, but did want to offer up some information on the DMZ, which I started playing yesterday. Boy, what a great game.

For those that are unaware, DMZ is another addition to the Call of Duty game. It is a mission-based game, with extraction points across the map. The radiation, which is normally part of the Warzone gameplay, starts within the battle area (Ashika Island or Almazra). Ashika Island is the new addition in battle pass 2. It is terrific! It has vehicles like the ATV and a few trucks on land, and there are boats and skidoos on the water at various places across the periphery of the island.

I have not played much in Almazra, but will after I refine my skills on Ashika Island. I’ll update you some more as I get more proficient. Here are a few pointers for you.

You should create an alternate weapon build for the weapons you carry into the DMZ. When you first begin, you will only have what is called an insurance slot. This slot is a place you can bring in any weapon you currently own. Your build should be composed of at least a suppressor. I recommend maximizing your magazine and bringing the field upgrade called the munitions box. An added recommendation, if you are comfortable, to add thermal sites to your build.

Silencers will keep you quiet as you pick apart a group of AI and typically will delay any alerts that occur. When the AI is alerted, you’ll begin to see helicopters begin delivering more AI to the battlefield. As far as tactical equipment goes, you’ll want to carry a stim. Your lethal should be either a semtex, thermite, or molotov. Some of the missions you will go on, will involve AI with riot shields. You’ll want to deploy your semtex, thermite, or molotov to kill these guys. Today, we ran across a stronghold with two riot shielders on the inside–we killed one with semtex; the other was taken out by a teammate who had a flanking shot on him.

Speaking of teammates, you’ll want to play with what are called “randos”, unless you have friends that want to play too. I play a lot with my brother and one of his stepsons.

I don’t want to spend too much time on this now, but will get some screenshots put up for you so you can see what I am explaining. It’s a lot easier when you can see what I’m talking about. Anyway, I played the bulk of my time yesterday solo, to explore the map, figure out where things were and that sort of thing. I died a lot. During that process I exhausted my contraband weapons, which are the weapons you use when you die with an insured weapon. Let me explain.

When you enter the DMZ, you will likely take one of your favorite weapons in with you. You can put that in your loadout in the one insured slot you get when you begin playing. If you die, it takes an hour for your insured slot to open again. While your insured slot is regenerating, you’ll have to start using contraband weapons. You’ll start out with 9 contraband weapons when you start playing. If you die in the DMZ with contraband weapons, you’ll lose them.

How do you get them back? Exfils with weapons you pick up on the battlefield or buy from a buy station and exfil with. This also goes for equipment. While you are playing, you’ll have the opportunity to pick up keys, key cards, and other cool items. If you do not want to lose them, make sure you remove them from your inventory before reentering the DMZ. If you have a key card, key or any items that will be useful later and you are not going to use that item on your current excursion, get it out of your inventory. You’ll lose that key if you die, so don’t risk it.

If you want to rebuild your contraband weapons up, you can run specific weapon runs when you go into the DMZ. I did this a few times yesterday in solo mode, and it works.

From what I’ve seen so far, the AI is always in the same place each time you enter. They will move around or do patrols, but typically, the same number of AI is always in the locations they are discovered. The question mark is always the other players that are in your session. I have been ambushed getting on a helicopter to exfil, I have accidentally ran across them on the train on the Almazra map DMZ missions, and also on Ashika island.

Well, that’s it for today, folks.

Happy Gaming! We’ve got power again, and I’m heading down to do some more work on weapon camouflages.

COD MW2, CODM, Diamond, JGOD, Polyatomic, Schedule, The Path of Ronin, Weapon builds, Weapon vs. Map

Boy, there is a lot going on. The Battle pass for MW2 and CODM have both just started. That means new goodies in the Battle pass map on COD MW2 and something new: The Path of Ronin. The Path of Ronin is a set of tasks that you can complete to earn the new crossbow. I can’t wait to finish it. I have 5 out of the 7 tasks done.

CODM started its new season and it’s fun as well. New weapons, new character skins, and new challenges. They’ve introduced the Goliath, a mech you can use in specific battle modes created by the developers. There’s the new comic. There are new modes of game play.

There are a lot of people complaining about COD MW2 and I dare say who complain about CODM. My take is this: Enjoy the game. If there are bugs, so be it. If there are things you don’t like, don’t play those modes. If you really are unhappy with the game in its entirety, stop playing. It’s that simple. Complaining over and over and over again, seems to me to be a monumental waste of time.

This week on my new schedule, I’m continuing camo grinds. I just got diamond for the Lapa Submachine gun in CODM and now will begin working on assault rifles again. This is one weapon group I neglected, to get diamond on everything else. There are a lot of assault rifles to diamond out yet. Partly because you have to play 150 games with 10 kills each to get the weapon to diamond. But, if you do what I do, it gets easier. I literally play to get 10 games in a day, so in a month, I’ll knock out two of these weapons. Some days I get a little ambitious and may go for 20 games, but remember, I am also grinding camos in COD MW2, so there has to be a balance.

In COD MW2, I got platinum for all of the launchers except the RPG. So that’s the one I’ll be grinding this week. My focus, however, is to finish the path of Ronin to get that crossbow. I can’t wait to get my hands on that bad boy. I am also grinding the marksmanship rifles to get them to Polyatomic camouflage. The Polyatomic challenge is headshots. It’s not that hard, you just have to stick with certain games. I like team deathmatch and kill confirmed for these challenges. What I discovered for the launcher this week in pursuing platinum is to play Ground War. It is filled with vehicles and these are the things you need to kill in order to get platinum with the launchers. Vehicles and Kill streaks like the UAVs, Counter UAVs, and VTOLs, etc. Anyway, the key to getting the camouflages you want is to find the most optimal conditions to achieve that. I found that deployable cover is a great one to have in your back pocket, along with a munitions box. I don’t like running out of ammo.

The next thing is both patience and the discipline to stick with what you are doing. When you’re grinding camos, don’t think about winning. You’ll die a lot too, trying to get the shot, rather than surviving. When I am going for headshots, that’s all I am focusing on, nothing more. I also consider getting one or two headshots a game to be a win. Some of you may not. But, when I am playing 5-6 hours a day on COD MW2 alone, I’ll get at least one weapon done each day. The key is to focus on that thing and get it done.

I knocked out the RAID mission and completed the CO-OP missions and unlocked Gaz’ ghillie suit and unlocked the character attached to the Mt. Zaya mission. It was great. I played with my brother’s sons-in-law. The are both good players and we get along well. The easiest way to make friends on CODM and COD MW2 is to literally send friend requests. You’ll have plenty of people to play with. The key to keeping them is to be flexible. If they want to do this or that, and you’re not too keen on that, play anyway. They’ll reciprocate. For those that do not, unfriend them and move on.

I can’t stress enough to watch streamers and YouTube videos. There will literally be a video on how to do something in both games. Just do some searching and you’ll find what you are looking for. One thing I would caution you on is weapon builds. There are a lot of folks out there claiming this build is that or this build is this, but keep in mind your game play. For example, I love thermal sights in COD MW2. I like them because I use smoke, a lot. So, my builds will be designed to achieve a certain camouflage. Some streamers are displaying a weapon build that works for them. If your playstyle aligns, go for it, otherwise, stick with what works for you and your playstyle. One other tip: stick with the folks that are experts and have lots of followers. JGOD is terrific for weapons stats and the impacts updates have on previous weapon stats. I have found no one better them him. So do some investigation. Test out a streamer’s claims. If they work, stick with them. If they don’t, move on to another streamer.

I’d also like to explain the choice of weapons for a specific map. There are some maps that will favor snipers and other long-range weapons. There are many that do not. Other maps are geared for more short-range weapons like shotguns, pistols, and submachine guns. As you get to know the maps better, make sure you choose the right weapon for the map. Sniper rifles are a must in DMZ or Warzone, simply because of the ranges you’ll be engaging enemies from. You’ll also have to deal with enemy snipers, who will kill you from a distance if you don’t have something to challenge them with.

There are also different games you can play. These will require different equipment load outs. For example, Invasion in COD MW2, are great maps for tactical inserts. These are devices that will allow you to spawn at a point you drop it. It’s a flare and will help you get back to where you were if you are killed. Deployable cover is a great piece of equipment if you are going for mounted kills or like to mount during a game. If you are a long-range player, claymores and proximity mines are also great loadout items.

I’ll wrap up this discussion with perks I prefer over others. In COD MW2 multiplayer, I love extra tactical, overpowered, resupply, and overclock. I like having lots of devices. The extra tactical will provide me with two tactical devices. I like using smoke. This helps me take out players who do not have thermals. My thermals will see through smoke. It’s also a great way to block the line of sight for enemy snipers. When I am sniping and do not have thermals, smoke is really frustrating and will normally require me to rotate to another position, which ultimately leads to my death to other more mobile players. Resupply will keep me in a steady supply of tactical devices and mines to protect my rear and flanks as I concentrate on the battlefield. I also carry deployable cover and a munitions box. I don’t like running out of ammo and I also like the stability of deployable cover, particularly now that I am going for headshots. If I am running assault rifles or submachine guns, I tend to gravitate towards frag grenades, Semtex grenades, or drill charges. Drill charges are great for those parts of the map where people tend to hunker down. Throw them against the walls, floors, or ceilings where you believe an enemy is and BOOM! they’re dead.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. As a reminder, send me a friend invite if you play CODM or COD MW2. My player id is: ieatbullets63. It is the same in both games. Hit me up. I’m always looking for more folks to play with. Playing games like these with players you know, rather than “randos” is more efficient. The more you play with one another, the better you’ll play as a team.

Well, that’s it for now, folks. Have a great Saturday!

Happy Gaming!

BP Vault, Challenges, CODM, CODMW2, Diamond, Gaming, JGOD, Polyatomic, Roadmap, Season 2, Vault Coins

I just finished a few challenges in CODM. I am also working on diamond camo for the Lada SMG, ZRG Sniper Rife, EC2 Assault Rifle, and the Dingo LMG. I’m focusing on the Dingo for now. I’m also working on Legendary status in both Battle Royale and Multiplayer. So far so good.

If you haven’t heard of vault coins, check them out. You can get access to character skins, weapons, and all kinds of goodies from previous seasons you may have missed out on. Below is a screenshot of my battle pass. You’ll notice the BP Vault and the current vault coins I have. They’re next to my CP. I currently have 140.

If you click on BP Vault, you’ll be brought to this screen (see below).

You’ll notice that I have completed all of the previously available vaults given. Each battle pass will bring in new ones. It’s great fun! You’ll earn vault coins while you progress beyond level 50 and have completed the current battle pass. I’ve gotten some terrific character skins that I missed out on in previous seasons. It’s awesome!

Call of Duty MW 2 is also really exciting. This Wednesday, February 15, 2023, is the next battle pass. Here’s the new roadmap video provided by one of my favorite streamers, JGOD:

I’m currently working on the Polyatomic camo for Battle Rifles. I’ve completed LMGs and Assault Rifles and the Riot Shield. I’m trying to get as much of this done before the Season 2 Battle pass coming out on the 15th, so I’ll be grinding my butt off for the next few days. This challenge involves getting headshots. I’d recommend using thermographic sites for most of these challenges. I am sticking with plain old Team Deathmatch for these challenges and it is pretty effective. I usually get polyatomic in a few games.

One of the best builds for my classes is carrying the battle rifle and a pistol so I can work two weapons at once. I run double time, extra tactical, resupply, and overclock. This way, I can always get positioned with rear protection using proximity mines or claymores. I also carry two smokes that are constantly refilled by resupply. Using smoke, you have some time to zero in on a headshot, while the enemy is blinded. Note: Some players will be using thermographic sites as well. When this is the case, you can forget smoke. They’ll see you too. So you’ll have to deal with that. What I’ve found, however, is that most players do not. So they are blinded while you site in their head.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. I hope you enjoyed the screen shots, the explanation of the vault coins, and the great video by JGOD showing all the great stuff coming on February 15th. Also, you’ll get free access that weekend, along with a 2X XP for new weapons and character experience to speed up completing the battle pass and getting all those great new weapons, characters, and other goodies.

Have a great Saturday, folks. As a reminder. If any of you want to play, you can find me as ieatbullets63 on both CODM and COD MW 2. Hit me up and we can play!!

Happy Gaming!

Call of Duty MW2, CODM, Dead Space, Diamond Camo Challenges, DMZ, Legendary status, Platinum Camo Challenges, Warzone

Season 2 of the battle pass for COD MW2 is upon us. It’ll be here in 11 days! With the new battle pass comes all kinds of updates to multi-player, the DMZ, and Warzone.

I have finished the platinum challenge in COD MW2 for Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles, Submachine guns, Shotguns, Marksmanship Rifles, and melee weapons (shield and knife). I am now working on the pistol challenge. I’m saving sniper rifles for last, because they are really fun to play for me and I want to relish this challenge.

I stopped playing Warzone and DMZ because of the expected changes that will be coming. One of which is a reset of the challenges in DMZ especially. Another huge change is the return of the resurgence map. This one is called Ashika Island. Here’s the official trailer for it provided by the official Call of Duty challenge:

This is going to be a blast!! I really like some of the areas in the new map.

Call of Duty Mobile is also a blast. They’ve had a few challenges so far, that are awesome! I love how they change the Battle Royale map. This one is a Lunar New Year theme with rabbits at select areas you can kill to get great loot.

I’ve golded out all of the weapons that were introduced this season, including the Dingo Light Machine Gun, the Lada Submachine Gun, and ZRG 20 Millimeter Sniper Rifle. Now I’m back in the diamond camo grind and the grind to legendary in both battle royale and multiplayer.

Call of Duty Mobile is a terrific game to play if you do not have a console and do not want to spend the bucks to get one. It’s also a great way to play Call of Duty if you travel extensively. I’m still trying to get my brother onboard with this but have failed to so at this point. I play on my iPad, but many play on their phones, which is totally doable, since the bulk of players in the world, use their phones to play, even those who play in the CODM league, use their phones. It is a requirement. You can also use a controller if you need to, but if you want to play competitively in a league, you’ll have to dump the controller. They do not allow that in competitive play. Also know that if you use a controller, you’ll be matched up with other controller players. Since the numbers of controller players is very limited, you’ll have a harder time getting matches, so beware of this.

Well, folks, that’s it for today. I hope you have a great Saturday. I’ll be gaming today on both console and mobile. Oh! Before I go, I also wanted to tell you about Dead Space remastered. It is released and there are some game play videos on YouTube. If you loved Dead Space like I did, you’ve no doubt downloaded it and started playing. I may or may not. It depends. Weapons grinding is time consuming, so I don’t know if I’ll have the bandwidth to add another game to my life at this point, but I’ll definitely be considering this when I’ve finished all the camo grinds in both games.

Happy gaming!

Dave

Battle pass, Call of Duty MW2, CODM, Lunar New Year, New Challenges, New characters, New Weapons, Season 2, Year of the Rabbit

I’m so stoked for today. It’ll be a full day of gaming. Right now, I’m working on some challenges in CODM. I’m also grinding camos and working on Legendary status in both Battle Royale and Multiplayer. I’ll keep you posted. I’ve completed the battle pass but need to finish out the Zombies battle pass. I’ve still got a way to go.

I’ve just finished the light machine gun platinum camo challenge and will be moving onto marksmanship rifles next. Now that I know where the places are on all the maps to get longshots, the grind is much easier.

They’ve announced some big changes for Call of Duty MW2 for season 2. Changes to the DMZ and Battle Royale, bringing back hardcore mode, and many others. I’m really excited about all the new weapons that are coming out, along with new characters and maps. It’ll be great fun!

I’ll also be looking at getting into another game on my console, just to keep things fresh. I haven’t decided what that game will be yet. I’ll be looking around my Xbox ultimate game pass to see what’s in there. I’m sure I can find a great game to play that will be awesome!

If you haven’t played the new battle pass for CODM, I highly recommend it. This season is celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year and this year’s animal is the rabbit. It’s been terrific fun to play the new Nuke Town, Battle Royale, and the multiplayer. They’ve also added some new maps to ranked multiplayer and that is a lot of fun as well.

Well, I’m off to start my gaming day. Have a great Saturday, folks!

Happy Gaming!

COD MW2, CODM, Console Gaming, Fun, Gaming, Hobby, Mobile gaming, PC Gaming

CODM recently started its Season 1 Reawakening. It is really cool! We’ve got new characters, new weapons, and some new challenges. Currently we are playing Rice Cake Rumble, which is all surrounding the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rabbit.

The challenges include the Limited Time Ticket Store. Limited Time Tickets can be obtained by playing ranked multiplayer and ranked battle royale. You can obtain tickets from a rabbit robot on special areas of the map, you can shoot yellow balloons over these areas that drop loot, and you can kill other players who will drop tickets.

Another challenge was the Easy Target challenge where all the players on the map are running around with oversized heads. It’s comical and really fun, The first of the weapons challenges also dropped. It was called Target Acquired. If you complete this challenge with sniper rifles, you will attain a signature attachment for the DL Q33 Sniper rifle, which is a new ammunition type that stuns enemies in the surrounding area of the bullet. I’ve tried it out, now that I’ve earned it and it’s sick! CODM is free and you can download it in either the Google Play store or App store on your Apple devices. They have a truckload of stuff to do, and the dev team is really creative. They always come out with some great challenge, new map, or a new game mode.

Call of Duty MW2 has been taking some flak from a lot of streamers who are disappointed with the new game play. Personally, I like all of it. Mind you, I’ve predominantly been grinding camouflages, so the DMZ and Battle Royale I have not done. I have played Coop and that is fun. I’ll be getting into the DMZ and Battle Royale in the 2nd Battle Pass which is now slotted for February 15, 2023. I’m so stoked.

Some of you may be wondering where the streamers are. The big three are Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube. Some folks are streaming on TikTok too. I’ll be putting together a stream in the next few years. I just don’t have time right now, with the non-profit work I do, and all of the things I am doing personally. This is definitely one of my goals.

If any of you try out CODM and want to connect, respond here. I’ll be getting a discord site up and running soon for folks who want to get together and play games on either of these platforms. I love playing with others who I know. Right now, I stick with my brother, his two stepsons, and my nephew. I’m always open to play with anyone.

Here are some trailers for you to view. If you like them, head to your specific app store and get in on the fun. Remember, CODM is free. COD MW2 will run you some bucks and you’ll also need a console or PC.

These are both terrific games. I can’t tell you how much fun I have playing both. I started CODM because someone has to be with my Dad who is suffering from Dementia. Now I can play Call of Duty in the comfort of my living room on my iPad. By the way, you’ll want to get the biggest screen available. For those of you young folks, you can play on your phone. If you are on your phone, I would still recommend playing on the largest screen. I’m talking the iPhone MAX if you can afford it.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Have a great Saturday!

Happy Gaming!

Battle pass, Buff, Buy Stations, COD, COD MW2, CODM, JGOD, Loadouts, Warzone, YouTube

Well, there’s a whole bunch of stuff going on in the CODM and COD MW2 realms.

CODM’s new battle pass starts in 5 days! I can’t wait! Each battle pass opens up new characters, new weapons and skins, and new challenges. Currently, I’m close to legendary in Battle Royal. I’ll hit that this week. Then, I’ve got to get to work on ranked Multiplayer.

I golded out all of the weapons in COD MW2 this week, finishing with the launchers this week on Wednesday. Now I’m working on platinum.

My brother and I play team deathmatch and kill confirmed. They are great fun. The new battle pass for MW 2 will release in February. If you are working weapons still, watch out for a 2X weekend that will come with it. This is a great time to work weapons, because they offer 2X weapons experience.

The next battle pass, I’ll be delving into both DMZ and Warzone. I’ve also got a bunch of Co-op missions to complete and the RAID, which I have not done yet. So much to do, and so little time! HA!

I wanted to start highlighting the streamers I follow on YouTube. Here’s the first one. JGOD is a technical resource for Call of Duty MW2. He is really good at providing good loadouts and insights into which weapons are the best ones to run and which ones to avoid. Here’s an example of his content:

He provides a lot of insight into what builds work and are the best based on the information he has access to. I hope you enjoy this. If you are a novice at COD MW2, you’ll want to stay on top of his videos. Each time Activision (Owner of COD) updates the game, he’ll provide updates at how their changes impact weapons, perks, etc.

By the way, if you don’t know what buff and nerf mean, here you go. Buff means the weapon has been strengthened. Nerf means the weapon has been weakened. Its important to keep track of this, because weapons that are strong today could change tomorrow. JGOD is the best resource I’ve found for this information and the impact it has had on the game.

Well, that’s it for today. I hope you have a great weekend!!

Call of Duty MW II, Co-op, CODM, DMZ, Fun, Gaming, Warzone, weapon progression

Boy, folks there is so much to talk about. I’ll start with CODM.

CODM had an anniversary season and just started its new battle pass. Great challenges, some new weapons like the EM2 Assault Rifle and the Lada Submachine gun. They also had some great deals for new skins, characters, and weapons. A few things you may be unaware of. CODM introduced a supply pass, which runs $9 a month. Each day you’ll get all kinds of goodies. They also added what they labeled vault coins to the battle pass progression. You can use these to open previous seasons and have access to the skins, characters, and weapons you may not have been able to get. So now you have access to all of them. You’ll work through individual “battle pass” like progression with each season you open. Typically, each step in the progression for characters, weapons, and such is 10 vault coins. You’ll get 5 vault coins every couple of steps you progress during the battle pass and beyond the 50 marks, once you complete it. I think it’s cool because most seasons I knock out the battle pass in as little time as a week, sometimes more quickly.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare has all kinds of great things to do. There’s the camo progression, there are co-op missions to play and level up your character in, and then there’s the DMZ and Warzone. The DMZ has its own specific missions and is a little different from Battle Royale in Warzone. In DMZ, you can go to any extraction point on the map and leave the area with what you found and/or earned. This season’s battle pass also introduced the Raid. Raid missions require three players, and you all have to be friends. You cannot play a Raid without having two other friends with you. Some have complained about this, but I think it’s a great way to build friendships and community in the game. Luckily, I have a few folks I play with that are huge fans of this game, so I do not have any trouble doing co-op missions, the DMZ, or the Raid.

There’s a lot of complaining out there in the community about the new console game, but frankly, most of it is just whining. I love the game and enjoy it daily. I am almost done with gold camo and will begin working on platinum camo for all my weapons. I just have two launchers to go. I’ve already got platinum for my riot shield, but still have to complete the knife in the platinum category.

If you are playing and still need to max out your weapons, I’d highly recommend doing this before you do anything else. You’ll need maxed weapons for loadouts in DMZ and Warzone. You can play these without having a maxed weapon, but some of the weapons you’ll encounter are quite weak until you have access to all of the attachments. Attachments are unlocked as you progress your weapons. As you know, each player if fully plated up in Warzone need to take quite a bit of damage before taking them out. There is also AI in both Warzone, co-op, Raid, and DMZ missions, and they are quite good. Do not take the AI in any of these game modes for granted. AI snipers are ruthless, and these AI troops act very close to real players. I still have a hard time telling the difference.

The best loadout for maxing weapons is to equip extra tactical and equip decoy grenades, the DDOS, and stick with kill confirmed. Some have suggested playing invasion or ground war, but frankly, I find that sticking with kill confirmed is way more efficient. I’ll leave that up to you.

Well, that’s it for now. I hope you have a great weekend, filled with family, friends, and gaming.

See you on the battlefield! By the way, my caller ID is ieatbullets63. Send me a friend request. I accept all takers, because I really like playing the DMZ and Warzone with people I know. Playing with randoms is not too good, because you could end up with some folks who are not interested in team play. I typically go solo when I can’t find any friends to play with.

Ok, folks, there is a lot to cover today. First, now that I’ve been playing MW2 for about a week, I’ve got some stuff to pass along. Warzone 2 is out now. I’m currently watching Spartakus on Facebook stream Warzone and it looks awesome. Spartakus is one of the streamers I watch on the weekend, because Stonemountain64 only streams Monday – Friday.

MW2

Weapons

The weapon system and gunsmith are different. You unlock weapons as you max them out. Some weapons can be maxed out at level 14, some go all the way to level 30 or so. At different levels other weapons will unlock. I’m taking the advice of Stonemountain64 by grinding every weapon in the game to unlock all the attachments. This is a huge difference in the gunsmith. When you unlock guns, the other guns, once you’ve gotten them to a certain level will have access to all the attachments you’ve earned before. I haven’t ground any camos yet but will later on.

Weapon tuning is available for a gun when you max it out. Weapon tuning allows you to control recoil, aiming stability (muzzle sway), and other things like that. It is a nice addition. There is also a firing range, which I highly recommend. You can access it in the gunsmith menu. If you’re an Xbox player, you’ll press and hold the Y button to get into it. There’s a door behind you (when you turn around away from the gun range). This door can be used to gauge a weapon’s recoil pattern. Some are really easy to deal with, while others are absolutely atrocious. But each weapon will unlock a unique attachment that is not available to other weapons until it is unlocked. Trust me. Grind all the weapons. You’ll thank me later.

Strategy for grinding weapons

The best modes to play are Kill Confirmed and Team Deathmatch. I was initially just playing Kill Confirmed, but I was dealing with some long queues, so I opted for Team Deathmatch as a means of getting into games more quickly. Some of the streamers were claiming that Invasion was also a good map to grind weapons because there are AI players in the game that are easier to kill. The problem is once everyone caught on to this, the advantages of playing Invasion went away. I get far more kills on Kill Confirmed than I did on Invasion. However, I will be playing Invasion and Ground War when I begin working on Marksman and Sniper rifles. These maps have great lanes for sniping and long-distance shots.

Tier 1

For those of you who like playing hardcore, Tier 1 is the new title. I love hardcore, because it is very realistic. You have no UAV, you have friendly fire, like the real thing, and you kill players with one or two shots. Mind you, they can also kill you that way, as well, but it’s great for grinding pistols, and even shotguns, if you are having difficulty grinding them in normal mode, which is more forgiving.

Special Ops missions

These are AI missions with small teams. If you have a buddy, you like playing with, these are terrific. I’ll be playing them with my brother or a friend I make playing the game. Activision announced that they will have a RAID during the season, but it is recommended you get leveled up in Special Ops missions, so you have the necessary ability to play the RAID mission.

Warzone 2

Warzone 2 is composed of all the maps that are played in multiplayer. It also acts the same as multiplayer. All weapons will be exactly the same. There is looting and inventory management, but the game play is exactly the same. I was thrown for a loop in the previous Verdansk map because they were different. Now the difference between the two are seamless.

DMZ

There is a DMZ mode in MW2 that is an extraction-based game. Think Escape from Tarkov. You get loot, and you take that loot with you, if you can extract from the game. The DMZ mission also works differently from Warzone. Instead of the cloud coming in, the DMZ mode has two radiation sites that expand outward, once the time threshold for the game has been reached. There are multiple missions to complete, and there is now a weapon skin for the M13B in DMZ, which is really cool. I have not played either of these modes yet, but will, once I have ground all the weapons to max.

I’ll cover this more in future postings.

CODM

CODM has so many challenges right now. I completed one yesterday to convert the M16 from a burst rife to full auto. What a huge difference. The M16 is really accurate. Now with the new Wildfire perk. Today, I’ll be grinding some CODM in Battle Royale. There are multiple challenges to complete and the anniversary map has all kinds of stuff strewn about to pick up. It’ll be great fun.

For those of you who’d like to play together. My callsign is ieatbullets63 on both CODM and MW2. Look me up and send me a note in chat. I’ll respond. We can friend up and play. I don’t care how good you are or bad you are. The game is so much more fun playing with friends.

I play CODM during the day, when I’ve gotten all my stuff done. Usually between 1 pm Detroit, MI time and 5 PM. MW2 is the rest of the evening after dinner, unless I’ve got something going on.

Well, that’s it for today, folks. Have a great weekend!

Happy Gaming!

Dave
