So many movies have taken on the idea of multiple universes, dimensions, and time travel. I often contemplate on these things and it always gives me a sense of expansiveness, like sitting in an empty theater, only much bigger. Today, I found a cool TEDEd video that goes over this line of thinking. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Have a great Tuesday!

Until next time…

It seems that our political discourse, along with any other type of discourse, particularly online, has digressed to trolling, outrage, attacking others, and spouting our points of view to enrage, rather than discuss. In light of all this, today’s Thinking Tuesday posting is quite apropos.

I was prompted to seek out some information on this, since I am taking a course in college that highlights communication in higher education. Here you go! Enjoy!

Have a great week, folks!

Until next time…

If you’ve ever experienced one of these, it is bad. It’s like you’re awake, yet not. It’s hard to explain. That’s why I thought Ami could explain it better. Watch this short video about a topic that may plague you. I have always found that the best way to face a fear is to understand it. Enjoy!

There are so many things in the news, that it is hard to keep track of what is going on. One thing I have always been interested in is outer space, NASA, and anything related to science. I wanted to share this short video offered on the NASA.gov website showing our first aircraft flight on another planet–MARS!!!

This is truly inspiring, because many of the things we are doing now were only dreamed of by science fiction writers. It is truly a great day to see something like this occur in my lifetime. I hope you all enjoy this.

Make it a great week, folks!

Until next time…

When we hear the name Rosa Parks, we all remember the incident where she refused to move out of a “white only” section of a bus and was arrested, turning the fledgling civil rights movement into a national phenomenon. Watch this short video to see what else she did in her life. I think you’ll be surprised.

If you’d like to learn more, here’s a link to read about her and her life: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_Parks

When you look at the large list of her accomplishments, think about the Jim Crow laws and all the other roadblocks that were put in her, and other African American’s lives during one of the darkest periods of American history.

Have a great Tuesday, folks!

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Thinking Tuesday – New Topic for 2021

I enjoy sharing things I find on the Internet, things I learn, and things I find entertaining like a good series on Netflix, a great book I just finished, or even a course I’m taking. Instead of just Ted Talks, I’m opening this up to anything I find that I think is interesting.

You’ll begin seeing book reviews, movie and television series reviews, game reviews, and even some cool stuff I’m learning this year. This year’s focus is on digital marketing, data science (particularly using Excel and Python), and statistics. This is my learning focus this year because I took on a new position in my religious organization in October 2020, and I need to learn a bunch of stuff to do the job well.

Anyway, I wanted to use today’s post as a precursor to what you’ll see here. Don’t worry, I’m not changing my 5 quotes on Wednesday, which was one of your 2020 favorites. That is staying, but you’ll see further changes as I evolve my blog into a newer, more interesting place to visit in 2021.

I hope you enjoy the adventure I’ll be taking you on every Tuesday.

Until next time…

This Ted Ed talk was inspired by my wife who is taking a test for her teaching credential today. Good luck, dear!

All of us get a little nervous before taking a test, wondering if we studied the right material, will remember what is important, and ultimately do well. Watch this Ted Ed talk to discover what happens in our brains when we are stressed out.

I hope you are having a terrific Tuesday!

Until next time…

Daily Ramblings – Thinking Tuesday – How Does Anesthesia Work?

Today, we learn about anesthesia. I have always wondered how they determine what to use when we get surgery. Just like this video explains, I did not make it beyond 95, when asked to count back from 100 and awoke 7 hours later with my back repaired.

I hope you like this short little video and enjoy it. These educational videos spurred me to re-title my Tuesday posts to “Thinking Thursdays”. From today forward, I’ll be changing today’s blog post from Ted Talk Tuesday to Thinking Thursday, which will also include videos from other sources or some book or course suggestions for you to take, if you’d like.

I hope you’re having a great Tuesday!

Until next time…
