Tue-Thu-Sat: Lower Body

Sun: off

Each day will also include 20-30 minutes of cardio and the sauna.

Hey, folks!

I’m still working through the Labrada trainer. All-systems go!

This week, my Dad will join me in the gym. He’s 82, but he needs the extra exercise now that he has completed his physical therapy. He has improved dramatically and his balance is better than it was at the start.

He’ll join me on Tuesdays and Thursdays with Mom. The rest of the week, I’ll be hitting it on my own.

Same schedule as before:

  • Mon – Wed – Fri – Upper Body
  • Tue – Thu – Sat – Lower Body
  • Sunday – Rest day (Do nothing day)

My Mom got home from her trip in Texas last night, so I now have the freedom to hit the gym, since she’ll be home to take care of Dad while I’m gone. I’ll be hitting the weights and cardio daily.

Here’s my workout schedule:

  • Monday – Full Body Weights
  • Tuesday – Cardio
  • Wednesday – Full Body Weights
  • Thursday – Cardio
  • Friday – Full Body Weights

It’s a holiday week, but no matter. I’ve perfected a home workout routine that helps me hit my daily cardio goals and my strength training goals, so no break in the workout routine. I’ll be taking the day off on my other things on Wed and Thursday for Thanksgiving, but the rest of the week will be usual work days.

Here’s my routine for the week:

Mon – Saturday

Cardio 20 minutes (elliptical 1, elliptical 2, treadmill, bicycle, or stair stepper)

Full body weight machine circuit (legs, abs, lower back, obliques, back, chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders, and calves)

I’ll be using a new routine based on a book I just read called Elastic Habits. Whatever routine I use, will be dependent on energy levels, etc.

  • basic routine 1 round of the circuit above | Home workout – same except using exercise bands
  • plus routine 3 rounds of the circuit above | Same
  • elite routine 5 rounds of the circuit above | Same

On Wednesday and Thursday, I’ll be doing home workouts with my exercise bands and do my HIIT training doing either Tabata training or stair stepping to get the heart pumping.

Ok, folks, we are at the start of a new week. I like variety in my exercise routine, so here goes another change.

Monday – Friday

AM workout – 5MHW

Mid-day: Gym Workout (Cardio and Weights)

  • Monday – 20 minutes cardio (treadmill) – legs and abs
  • Tuesday – 20 minutes cardio (Back and Biceps)
  • Wednesday – 20 minutes cardio (Chest and triceps)
  • Thursday – 20 minutes cardio (Shoulders)
  • Friday – 20 minutes cardio
  • Saturday and Sunday (rest and recuperate)

PM workout: 5MHW

We are moving into a 6-day split this week. This is the routine this week:

  • Monday Upper Body
  • Tuesday Lower Body
  • Wednesday Upper Body
  • Thursday Lower Body
  • Friday Upper Body
  • Saturday Lower Body
  • Sunday Day Off

My AM workout will be a 5-minute HIIT session. My Afternoon will be weights on the above schedule. My early evening workout will be a Pilates session.
