Daily Ramblings – Motivation Monday – Relax week

enjoy, Have Fun, Relax, Rest, Slow Down, Take a Break, Time off, vacation week

I promised to take a week off each quarter and have failed miserably, so this week, I’m doing it! I’ll be reading and doing some of my tasks daily, but most are going on stand by. The first reason is I’m a little burned out by the hectic schedule I’ve been keeping to stay occupied–the other, I hurt my back late last week and just want to take it easy and relax until this thing sorts itself out.

So this week, as part of my vacation, I’ll be catching up on some Netflix, Amazon, and read more than I normally do. I’m still on the hook for 60 books and have finished 43-44 of them, but want to hit this one early this year, so I can enjoy the holidays and potentially take the entire month of December off, to really enjoy the holiday season, my favorite time of the year.

I’ll keep up my blogging too. I enjoy interacting with you, and like posting my little things each day, since some of you like certain content days, some of you like other days.

Have a great week, everybody!

Until next time…

Dave

Consistency, Life Happens, No excuses, Sticking with it, taking a break, Time off, Truth, vacation

You see the gym picture above? No one is in it, including me. I just wanted to touch base, since it’s obvious I’ve been out of the gym for a bit. I wanted to keep myself accountable by writing in this special section of Daily Ramblings because I like the added pressure of putting myself out there. Between dentist appointments, vacationing with my sister, and now returning for a day and getting ready for my brother to come out and visit for a week, I decided to take some time off. I’ll be starting my workout routine again on the 1st of June.

It’s so easy to beat yourself up when something you’ve committed to doesn’t happen. I figured it was a little rude to go to the gym when I’m at my sisters for a few days, rude to miss time with my brother when he’s here to help out with my Mom’s cataract surgery on the 3rd of June, and all the rest. Is this an excuse? Sure. I’m not going to give myself a break when I fail to meet my expectations. Is it life-ending? No. I’ll be back in the gym on the 1st of June and continue to push forward with my physical goals.

Taking a break is a personal decision, but one that does not need you to guilt trip yourself over. If you need a break—take one. Then pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back in there and pound on yourself again. Weightlifting is a marathon, not a race.

See you at the finish line…

Chilling, Easter Sunday, family, Relaxation, Sri Lanka, Terrorist Bombing, Time off

Hello, all!

I had a great Easter weekend with family and really enjoyed the downtime. It’s nice to have a break from the day-to-day once in a while and I took advantage of it. Today, will be another day of rest and recuperation to spend my sister’s last day here. Subsequently, today’s post will be short. I’m up early getting things done before the rest of the family wakes up.

On a sad note, my heart goes out to the people of Sri Lanka today. According to the news, terrorist bombs killed 200 people and injured many more yesterday. There were some American casualties but authorities have not released the names. When you read about horrors like this, it wakes you up to the savagery ever-present in the world.

On a lighter note, I’ll be back on track with my daily habits and rituals tomorrow. I hope each of you has a terrific week. Keep pushing forward with your goals. Remember, one small step at a time. Each step gets you closer.

Until next time…

enjoying the food and drink, enjoying the holidays, Rest, Time off

Well, folks. I’m taking the rest of December off for a break from exercise. We have a lot of folks coming in from out of town, the food will be fabulous (most of which I would never eat during a serious workout routine), but I will be partaking in.

I’ll see all of you on this article posting in January.

Happy Holidays to all of you. My daily quote posts will continue.

Hey all!

I’ve made what I call a “Command Decision”.

We have had so many interruptions the last few weeks with unannounced friends and family coming in for the holidays, that it has been tough keeping some form of schedule for the gym and my exercise.

So, we’re going to take a few weeks off to enjoy the holidays, eat some stuff I probably shouldn’t, and spend some quality time with the family, friends, and visitors that show up on our doorstep.

I’ll be picking up my workout diary again in January 2018. Yeah, I know, one of my goals was to get down to 15% bodyfat, but there are just too many temptations around the holidays and I don’t want to deny myself all of the great things that are a part of the holiday season.

I’ll be starting this part of my blog again after the New Year!

Happy Holidays to everyone. I hope your holiday season is as nice as mine will be.

Keep following and reading my other postings on daily quotes, ted talks, and anything else I come up with.

See you again in January where we kick off another terrific year of health and fitness.

Dave
