Daily Ramblings – Spiritual Saturday – The Law of Consciousness

Have you ever created a picture, poetry, or a physical object like a table or bookshelf? When you began you stared at a blank canvas, piece of paper, or a pile of wood. What gave that life? You did.

The Law of Consciousness dictates that the thought or idea has to start from the inner, to be expressed later in the outer form. You have to have the story, poem, music, or design in your head before you can create it.

The same process occurs spiritually. You have to have an idea of what you are seeking before you can seek it. You have to realize the existence of something before you can explore it. You have to believe before you can experience something. Without the belief or awareness of something, you cannot conceive it.

To be conscious of something, you have to gain the realization or belief that what you are thinking is possible. Then it is easy to manifest.

Where do ideas come from? They come from the real self–Soul. Soul is not bound by matter, energy, space, or time. It is infinite. It is omnipresent. Subsequently, Soul sees the whole picture. When Soul tries to communicate to the mind, the mind censors it, particularly if the information that is transmitted is too much for the mind to handle. Subsequently, our spiritual progress is slow and measured. This is the way it has to be, but progress is made, regardless of your awareness of it or not.

This is the Law of Consciousness. Have a great Saturday!

Until next time…

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences. All events are blessings given to us to learn from. Elizabeth Kübler-Ross – Courtesy Wisdom Quotes

When I look back on my life, it is amazing to see how all the puzzle pieces come together. Each action, each decision resulted in my current circumstances. Perhaps it is because I like to find those pivot points—the points in my life that impacted my future life. I suppose all of our actions are pivot points, but the ones I think about are the points we arrive at that are forks in the road. If I went this way, I’d be here. If I went that way, I’d be there.

I believe this quote to the bone. We are exactly where we are supposed to be. The things that occur in our life are not a chance, bad luck, good luck, or mistakes. They just are.

It is sometimes surprising to see this in action. Why did I do that? So I could be doing this now. Why did I go there?  So I could be here now. I may not be explaining this right, but everything, and I mean everything has led to where I am.

All of us experience pain, suffering, hardships, and loss. We also experience love, success, joy, and pleasure. These are all realities in our lives. Our loved ones will pass away like we will someday. How do you deal with that? You live your life the best way you can, serve others, and realize that the physical shell you wear in this lifetime is just that–a shell. The real you is eternal. That you never dies. Nor do the real selves of your loved ones. We all continue.

When you realize this truth, there is no sorrow, pain, hardships or loss. There is only experience. This experience is what the real you needs to unfold and become more aware. The more you experience, the more you grow. The more you grow, the more service you can provide. Serving others without expectation of reward is the key. When you give of yourself selflessly, you gain more than you know.

The real you is on Earth to learn. Earth is a classroom. Nothing more, nothing less.

Until next time…

Dave

Daily Ramblings – Spread Your Wings Sunday – Weekly Challenge

This week’s challenge provided by the 5-minute Journal:

Take a cold shower. As cold as you can take it. For as long as you can.

This will be a tough one.

Alternate challenge:

Read something that is totally opposite of your belief system to open your mind. If you are liberal, read something conservative. If you are conservative, read something liberal.

Example:

Conservative reading: article on Rush Limbaugh’s site or the Daily Wire. Liberal reading: read an article on the NY Post, Washington Post, LA times, or CNN.

I try to read as broadly as I can. You’ll know when you’ve hit your boundary, you’ll be triggered. I believe we need to stop fighting from extreme positions and meet in the middle. There is no perfect ideology, no perfect political affiliation, no perfect opinion. They are just opinions. Each opinion is worth listening to or reading about to arrive at a truly informed position.

Post in the comments when you accomplish one of these. I look forward to your responses.

Until next time…

Dave

Daily Ramblings – Wisdom Wednesday – Love of Learning

“Few realize that a deep love for God also implies a love for learning.”

—Harold Klemp The Language of Soul

I love to learn. I take courses, talk with people, read lots of books and articles, and engage with life. There are so many free resources online, I have a hard time understanding why more people do not take advantage of them.

What is learning? Learning to me is literally gaining knowledge about something that you can apply in your life. If you are interested in photography, there is a wealth of free information online that can help you develop your eye for the perfect picture.

The same goes for writing, playing an instrument or even learning a new language. Each requires a certain discipline to learn, but there are so many ways to learn new things via books, via blogs, via YouTube, Coursera, Udemy, or even the Khan Academy.

I love learning more about writing, bodybuilding, nutrition, exercise, history, and other non-fiction topics. I’m also a huge fan of anything that can help me be more productive and achieve my goals.

Today, take this quote to heart and think about what it means to you.

Learning is one way to continually add to your current skillset. The more skills you have the more ability you have to help others and perhaps even earn more for yourself and your loved ones.

Until next time…

Einstein, Godin, Growth, limits, simplicity, Walsch

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch

This is a terrific quote, but one that needs a little clarification in my opinion. The note I would add would be: “for some people”. The reason I add this is because there are some folks who are interested in the status quo. They don’t want to push beyond their comfort zone. They prefer staying in their little fenced in area where it’s safe.

This quote is about pushing past your limits, going beyond what you think you can do. Read more, write more, contribute more, love more, achieve more. It makes no sense to me to stick in one place and not move forward truly striving for something beyond what I am.

“Good ideas come from bad ideas, but only if there are enough of them.” – Seth Godin

This quote reminds me of Thomas Edison’s attempt to invent the lightbulb. He found a multitude of ways that wouldn’t work before he discovered the way it would work. Perseverance is always required when inventing new things, exploring new things, or learning new things.

“Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler.” – Albert Einstein

This quote is also a great one. I enjoy reading Albert Einstein’s quotes. He was a great communicator of complex ideas, which is what smart folks can do. Steven Hawking is also an individual who can do the same thing. If you haven’t read one of his books, I highly recommend it. He takes some very complex ideas and explains them in a way you and I can understand them.

I hope everyone’s Wednesday is terrific! If you have any quotes you would like to contribute or have any comments on these, feel free to drop a note.

See you tomorrow!
