Have a great Wednesday, folks! Before I go, one thing I suggest people do with quotes is write down their thoughts about them. Obviously I wouldn’t do it for every quote that is above, but it is a nice exercise to think about what these quotes say. Do they make sense? Do they suggest doing something in your life that may make it better? I do this every day. It’s a great practice and one that helps me make sense of the world. Why not learn from those who have come before us?

All, ECKANKAR has a worldwide seminar that is available to everyone, whether you are an ECKist or not. When COVID hit, ECKANKAR began recording events for the public who could not attend. This year we finally had an in-person event (I did not attend), and in November they offer the public to watch key parts of the event online.

It’s so nice to be back at my desk and creating content. I love to write, and this medium allows me to express myself in specific ways on a daily schedule. Over time, however, I began to get the nudge to write about anything and when you’re on a tight schedule like my blog requires it takes away a little freedom, which I crave. So, from now on, Fridays will be my free writing days. I’ll write about popular topics, but don’t be surprised if I go off on a tangent into other topics just to keep things fresh and interesting. Over the last 4 years, I’ve gotten very good at finding interesting topic areas that I enjoy that many of you have enjoyed too.

Today, I just wanted to explain what Fridays would bring, so you would not be surprised that my funny Friday postings had disappeared. I will still inject some humor or may drop a Youtube video here that I find funny, but wanted to have an opportunity to write about anything that comes to mind on Friday.

For those of you who are new to my blog, here is my weekly schedule of writing. If you see any topic that is interesting, feel free to visit me on those days.

Today, I’ve strayed from my typical format. I wanted to concentrate on the theme of freedom, because that is what this country is about. The freedom of women to choose what to do with their bodies. The freedom of people to associate with whomever they want. The freedom to express your thoughts, your gender preferences, whatever, without repercussion. The Bill of Rights was created for a reason. To codify rights that are so important that the government cannot take them away, without the consent of the governed through their representatives. Your freedom is at stake every single day. Fight for it. It is the only way you will remain free.

Daily Ramblings – Thankful Thursday – Grateful I Am Vaccinated

The folks got their COVID booster shots yesterday and today they are both sore. I’ll be getting mine when I am eligible. Friends of ours had an encounter with COVID recently. The husband was hospitalized and the wife tested positive as well. Both of them are vaccinated. Thank God they were vaccinated, or they may have joined many who have succumbed to this nasty thing.

My view on COVID is this: Each of us is an individual and we have the right to choose what is best for us. If we choose to get vaccinated, so be it. If we choose not to, that’s ok too.

The thing for me is that each individual has the freedom to do what is best for them, but whatever decision they make, they have to live with the consequences. My brother is the only one in our family that chose not to vaccinate. My sister’s boyfriend has also chosen not to get the vaccine. The consequences of these choices is that both have to get tested before they visit us. This is for our protection.

The point I am making here is that you cannot make a decision without consequences–good or bad. If you do not want to get vaccinated, then deal with the limitations on where you can work, where you can travel, and the risks associated with that decision.

Today, I am thankful I got vaccinated. I did not buy into all the conspiracy theories out there about being “chipped” and all the rest. I also continue to live the way we all lived in 2020. I realized during this time that going out to dinner or to a movie were nice, but not necessary. We can order in. We can stream most movies now online, even the ones that are in theaters, which are coming out more quickly than before. When I’m feeling particularly lazy, I even get my groceries delivered.
