Ethan Zuckerman gives a talk at a TedxGlobal event discussing how skewed our use of the Internet really is, when examined from a global context. In this talk he discusses ways of bridging the gap so that each of us is more connected, can access areas of the world that are “dark” to us, and begin the process of truly understanding one another.
Some of that occurs here. Look at your followers. Look at who is following your blog. Like me, you’ll be shocked by diversity of folks who follow you across the globe. I think blogging is one way to truly connect with other people across the globe and learn about who they are, what interests them, and how they look at the world.
