Birthday, born, Day Off, eat some good food, Happy, Life, play some games, Read, Relax

This is going to be short today, folks. It’s my 57th birthday and I’m going to be taking the day off. I’m grateful to be alive, grateful to have been born, and grateful for this life. It has been one hell of a journey so far.

Have a great day, folks!

Until next time…

Chill out, Day Off, Do Nothing Day, Relax, self-care, Spread Your Wings, Sunday

Challenge: Take a day off. I mean it. You work hard. You are stressed out. Take a day off to do whatever you want to. Ignore your to-do list, ignore what you feel you have to do, and just do nothing. I do this every Sunday and it is so refreshing.

In the comments, tell me what you did. Did you go on an adventure? Did you relax with a good book and a beverage? Did you get a massage? What did you do on your “do nothing day”?

Until next time…

Blood pumping, Consistency, daily, Day Off, Friday, HIIT cardio, Recover, Stair stepping

Today’s workout was cardio-only, since I treat Friday as my one day off during the week. HIIT cardio is fast and easy and easy to do anywhere. Today, I did some stair-stepping in the house, 1 minute on, 1 minute rest, for 20 minutes.

Happy Friday!!

See you at the finish line.

Day Off, nice weekend, Saturday, vacation

Hello, readers!

I’m heading to my sister’s tomorrow for a nice weekend. I won’t be posting my spiritual Saturday and normally don’t post on Sunday.

I just wanted to let everyone know.

Until next time…

consolidation, Day Off, Do Nothing Day, Rest, reveiw

Hey, all. For those of you who have recently begun following my blog, I normally do not post anything on Sundays. I consider Sunday to be what I call “A do nothing day”. What this means is that my typical rituals, other than my exercise routine and weekly review (every Sunday) are not done today.

I use Sunday as a day of just doing what I feel like doing, like tackling a book for more than 25 minutes, doing some extra-long writing sessions, or heck just getting caught up on my favorite shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Today is a day of reflection for me. I look at what went right the previous week, what went wrong, and ponder ways to improve just a little bit more.

Well, that’s it. I’ve had quite an influx of followers the last few weeks and wanted all of my new readers to know.

Until next time…

Balance, Day Off, Eating a Nutritious Meal, Meditation, Reading, Rest, Sleeping

Today is a day off, folks. We have friends coming over and then we’re all heading to dinner later. I hope all of you that are exercising in my reading audience take a day off from time to time. The body needs to recover. Your long-term exercise goals should take a balanced approach. Activity and then rest.

When you take a day off, you give the body time to recover and rejuvenate itself. Rest is just as important as the activity you put in. On your rest days, relax. Drink lots of water, settle down with a good book, really take the time to allow yourself body, mind, and spirit to relax.

Nothing relaxes me like a good book, a cup of tea, writing in my journal, and meditating. Sleep in. Enjoy a good movie. Have a nutritious meal. Pamper yourself.

Tomorrow you’ll be back and you’ll be stronger mentally and physically.

See you tomorrow!

Dave

Bodybuilding, Day Off, Recovery

Off Day!

With my brother and niece in town, coupled with working out for about 6 days straight, the body told me this morning to take a day off. So here I am.

Rest and recuperation are critical to any exercise program. Push as hard as you can on your workout days, but enjoy your days off as well. The body will tell you when it’s time for a break. You’ll get better at this over time.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday. I’ll be hitting a leg workout tomorrow.

See you then!

Day Off, Father's Day

Readers!

I’ve taken the day off to celebrate Father’s Day. I hope each of you who is a father has a terrific day today. I also hope that you, my readers, take a minute to send your love to your Father. He raised you, supported you, and worried about you (more than you’ll ever know).

See you tomorrow…
