“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch
This is a terrific quote, but one that needs a little clarification in my opinion. The note I would add would be: “for some people”. The reason I add this is because there are some folks who are interested in the status quo. They don’t want to push beyond their comfort zone. They prefer staying in their little fenced in area where it’s safe.
This quote is about pushing past your limits, going beyond what you think you can do. Read more, write more, contribute more, love more, achieve more. It makes no sense to me to stick in one place and not move forward truly striving for something beyond what I am.
“Good ideas come from bad ideas, but only if there are enough of them.” – Seth Godin
This quote reminds me of Thomas Edison’s attempt to invent the lightbulb. He found a multitude of ways that wouldn’t work before he discovered the way it would work. Perseverance is always required when inventing new things, exploring new things, or learning new things.
“Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler.” – Albert Einstein
This quote is also a great one. I enjoy reading Albert Einstein’s quotes. He was a great communicator of complex ideas, which is what smart folks can do. Steven Hawking is also an individual who can do the same thing. If you haven’t read one of his books, I highly recommend it. He takes some very complex ideas and explains them in a way you and I can understand them.
I hope everyone’s Wednesday is terrific! If you have any quotes you would like to contribute or have any comments on these, feel free to drop a note.
See you tomorrow!
The Albert Einstein quote sincerely rings truth! Most of the time people are reluctant to step out of their ‘comfort zone’ because of fear itself. Quoting Doctor Phil ( if I may), said that the only phobias there is, is the idea of fear. In my opinion, stepping out of one’s “comfort zone” is facing the unknown head on. This is not always an easy feat for some, especially if they are trapped in the past from hurt, trauma or disappointment, moving forward means moving away from what they feel they can control and handle. Sadly this inhibits new, fresh experiences to thrive, that is where the real healing begins!

So true. I truly feel for those who have had horrible things happen to them. I can only hope that they can aspire to pull themselves out of the despair they are in to once again seek out something better.

The Albert Einstein quote rings truth! Quoting Doctor Phil, if I may, he suggests that the only phobia which exists is fear itself. In my opinion people afraid to leave their ‘comfort zone’ fear the unknown. The unknown is a place where they are no longer in control or able to feel safe. Many people who suffer PTSD, trauma, hurt and disappointment, seem to be stuck in the past, where they feel in control and safe. However, not moving forward inhibits your mind, body and spirit to invite new positive healthy experiences to help heal these past hurts and traumas. Hopefully those in pain and turmoil can take even one step forward and see the positive benefits.

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Quite true, I think. I believe we all have a tendency to ossify over time, become ridged, inflexible, perhaps even brittle. Pushing ourselves to leave our comfort zones now and then can be a way to combat that.

You bet. Why change when it’s so comfortable? 🙂 I think people make changes when they are ready. They also leave their comfort zones when they’re forced to. Some folks have gleaned benefits from this quote without any stimulus. I think this is the group we all can aspire to be a part of.
